Around September of last year, I made a crazy decision to take time away from work and hike the Pacific Crest Trail this year. To add to the insanity, I decided to thru hike this thing which means I'll hike all 2,650 miles in one go, from beginning to end.
I also knew that the rewards of even starting such an amazing journey were more than one person could handle so I wanted to share this with a group that supports not only some very dear people in my life, but thousands of children and adults with Type 1 diabetes.
The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) is the worldwide leader in funding research to cure type 1 diabetes, an autoimmune disease that strikes children and adults suddenly and lasts a lifetime. JDRF is the leading funder and advocate of type 1 diabetes science.
My cousin's son. My best friend's daughter. My friend's niece. All are three are bright, active, wonderful kids. And they all have Type 1 diabetes. You can help me share the rewards of this amazing hike with them and others with Type 1 by making a donation to either the JDRF or towards the cost of the hike (or both!).
To donate funds (or products!) towards the cost of the hike, you can click the "Donation" button to the right or you can mail, UPS, USPS, or FedEx anything directly to me at:
Kellie Morrill
4701 SW Admiral Way #110
Seattle, WA 98116
All funds received will be used ONLY for the cost of the hike (food, necessities, and Trail Angel support.) and any funds remaining will be donated to the JDRF.
